Meitheal Mara, Cork’s Community Boatyard, is a maritime heritage organisation for young people and adults, founded on the banks of the River Lee in 1993. We are a Company Limited by Guarantee, a registered charity, a social enterprise and a training centre.
Our vision is: Growth through maritime heritage. Na báid agus saol na ndaoine. Meitheal Mara combines maritime culture with opportunities for personal growth and progression, bringing the pleasures of boat building and rowing to a wide range of people. We make welcome in particular those who would not otherwise have such opportunities. We organise many events including the annual Ocean to City – An Rás Mór and Cork Harbour Festival; and are regularly involved in maritime heritage research and publications. Visit website ›
