Equality Day is the main annual event for CESCA. This is the 11th Equality Day for us and this year the theme is Equality, Diversity, Autonomy and Inclusivity. In an increasingly divisive world these themes are more important than ever. We have four speakers: Aine Flynn from the Assisted Decision Making Service, Jennifer Ryan from Sanctuary Runners and Muriel Moore from the Dementia Inclusive Community. The fourth speaker Denis Barrett has agreed to speak about our dear deceased colleague Siobhan O’Dowd who died earlier this year after a courageous battle with cancer. The title of Denis’s talk is ‘Reflection on the life of Siobhan O’Dowd and her contribution to community work in the city’. Her absence will be felt in CESCA, Cork City and globally.
